EU battery passport 2027 for Brazil
From 18 February 2027, covered EV, LMT and industrial batteries above 2 kWh require passports.
Legal and market context
From 18 February 2027 the covered types are EV, LMT and industrial batteries above 2 kWh placed on the EU market or put into service.
Required records and evidence
Identify the economic operator responsible for the finished battery; a cell supplier is not always the passport operator.
Practical controlled workflow
Prepare model, serial, materials, origin, performance evidence and access rights before publishing a QR identity.
Category, individual unit and data access
Article 77 links the passport to the model and individual battery. Prepare a unique identity, QR, model information and unit evidence with access levels for public and restricted data. Portable batteries outside the listed categories do not automatically fall within this passport duty.
