German Packaging EPR · UK business

German Packaging EPR for UK businesses

German packaging EPR is an ongoing producer-responsibility process. For system-participation packaging, the compliance file can involve LUCID registration, an appropriate system-participation contract, packaging-volume data, reporting and a German Authorised Representative for qualifying foreign producers.

A registration number is not the entire compliance file

Packaging quantities and system-participation data must stay aligned with the producer’s actual German-market packaging. EPRORA is designed to keep the recurring data flow organised.

Separate EPRORA fees from external recycling costs

EPRORA service fees are shown separately from the official free LUCID registration and from third-party dual-system charges based on packaging material and weight.

Frequently asked questions

What is a German dual system?

A system operator finances collection and recycling for packaging subject to system participation. Commercial charges depend on packaging material, weight and the operator’s tariff.

Is German packaging EPR a one-off registration?

No. Packaging data and reporting are ongoing obligations where applicable.

Can marketplace sales data support the process?

Yes, where supported APIs and permissions allow EPRORA to use the relevant commerce data.

MORE THAN PACKAGING EPR

Product passports, serial numbers, QR codes and production integration

EPRORA can extend the same product and packaging data into Digital Product Passports, serial-number and QR-code-based product identity, supported marketplace/shop workflows and the Production Connector for production or enterprise-system integration.

Keep your shop. Add the German compliance layer.

Existing LUCID registrations, marketplaces and shops can remain in place. EPRORA organises the German Authorised Representative, LUCID status, packaging data and evidence workflow around them.

Packaging representation for your EU sales markets

Use the self-check to record the EU countries you sell to. Then explicitly choose each supported country for which you wish to appoint EPRORA. Selecting a sales destination does not itself grant a mandate.

A separate mandate and annual subscription for each country

Each newly appointed country has its own applicable annual subscription and one-time mandate setup fee. Regular annual renewal does not repeat the setup fee. The self-check shows the country-by-country charges, first-year total and subsequent annual fees. Applicable VAT and third-party costs are itemised separately.

A country rules and monitoring package does not replace representation or the annual subscription for another country. Additional services are shown separately from the mandate.

Country-specific mandate documents

Each appointed country has its own mandate documents. Review the details, complete any blank fields and sign the relevant documents. Generating a document or making a payment alone does not activate the mandate.

A German LUCID registration or a German mandate does not replace a separate appointment for other sales markets. Existing registrations and packaging scheme agreements are taken into account when processing your appointment.

Battery, textile and furniture product passports

EPRORA connects packaging compliance, product passports and production data. Small online shops, manufacturers and enterprise groups can organise their data in one platform.
