German packaging law for Lithuanian businesses
PPWR applies across the EU from 12 August 2026, but producer EPR registration and execution remain market-specific. Lithuanian GPAIS status therefore does not automatically satisfy German LUCID and VerpackDG obligations.
LUCID is only one part of the process
Depending on packaging and the sales chain, system participation, volume reporting, authorised representation and market-access controls can also apply.
Evidence should be management-ready
EPRORA keeps status, documents and underlying packaging data available in a controlled evidence layer.
Lithuanian GPAIS does not replace German LUCID.
GPAIS registration and packaging records are Lithuania-specific. German sales separately require producer-role, LUCID, system participation, reporting and EPR authorised-representative analysis.
DPP, serial numbers, QR and production in the same data model
EPRORA can extend the same product and packaging data to Digital Product Passports, serial numbers, QR product identity and Production Connector.
Frequently asked questions
Does Lithuanian GPAIS registration cover German packaging EPR?
No. GPAIS registration and record keeping are Lithuania-specific. German sales require a separate assessment of producer role, LUCID, system participation, data reporting and authorised representation.
Is official LUCID registration free?
Yes. Official producer registration in LUCID and ZSVR data reporting are free of charge. Private services and system participation are separate costs.
Can an existing LUCID number remain in use?
Yes. For the same Lithuanian legal entity, the existing producer record should normally be retained and updated instead of duplicated.
Does a Lithuanian business need a German EPR authorised representative?
Since 12 August 2026, a foreign producer without a German establishment that directly supplies packaging or packaged products to German end users must appoint a German-based EPR authorised representative. LUCID registration remains the producer’s personal duty.
Can EPRORA connect commerce and ERP systems?
Yes where a supported direct connector exists; otherwise API, middleware or structured import can be used. EPRORA does not present unsupported integrations as direct connectors.
Lithuania → Germany guides
Keep your Lithuanian entity and systems. Add the Germany layer.
