Identify your role before choosing a service

Direct sales from Saudi Arabia to German end users

Since 12 August 2026, qualifying foreign producers without a German branch directly selling packaging or packaged goods to German end users require a German authorised representative.

Sales through a German importer or distributor

Not every export structure creates identical duties. Check the legal entity, brands, contracts and party placing the product on the German market.

LUCID registration and packaging-system participation

Producer-personal registration and reserved record changes stay with the producer. Other legally transferable duties can be handled after valid authorisation.

MWAN, SABER and LUCID have different functions

MWAN · waste management in Saudi Arabia

Saudi waste legislation recognises extended producer responsibility. Assess the applicable product, business activity, implementing rules and MWAN decisions separately from German obligations.

SASO / SABER · Saudi product conformity

SABER supports product registration, conformity certificates and shipment certificates for the Saudi market. A SABER certificate is neither German LUCID registration nor an EU Digital Product Passport.

EPRORA · a defined cross-border scope

This page concerns Saudi businesses using German packaging-compliance and EU product-data services. It does not promise Saudi government licensing, MWAN reporting or SABER certification.

From a small storefront to multi-brand manufacturing

Merchants and marketplace sellers

Review actual German deliveries and packaging material/weight records. Small business size alone does not establish an exemption.

Manufacturers and exporters

Prepare SKU, brand, materials, suppliers and batch evidence. Manufacturing a product is not necessarily the same legal role as being its liable packaging producer.

Industrial groups and supply chains

Connect product evidence and serial identifiers to ERP, PIM or MES where supported interfaces and permissions exist.

Five steps to an organised compliance record

1 · Assess your requirements

Identify sales, product groups, packaging and any genuine need for DPP. Choose zero when not needed.

2 · Review prices

See annual plans, one-time mandate setup and separate external costs before ordering.

3 · Reuse existing records

Retain the same legal entity’s LUCID number, brands and product information; personally complete reserved registration steps.

4 · Document the appointment

Delegated tasks start after a valid appointment, executed contract and necessary register steps, not merely after clicking a button.

5 · Maintain records in Office

Organise sales, packaging and documents for review and reporting. Automation depends on available integrations and usable data.

DPP · ESPR · BATTERY PASSPORT

Digital Product Passports: a second reason to structure export data

A passport is more than a QR image. Start with product, material, supplier, origin, batch, serial and verified evidence. EU requirements are introduced by product category, not for everything at once.

Battery passport · 18 February 2027

Covers EV batteries, light-means-of-transport batteries and industrial batteries above 2 kWh placed on the EU market or put into service. The party responsible for the finished battery is not automatically every component supplier.

Textiles and industrial products

Binding obligations and transitions depend on the adopted measures for each category. There is no blanket February 2027 deadline for all textiles, electronics or automotive parts.

Product Master · QR · Production Connector

Prepare product and packaging masters, supplier evidence, batches and serial identities. Confirm factory-system interfaces and permissions before integration. Data readiness alone is not legal certification.

Discuss manufacturing or group integration

Start with your existing shop and business systems

Salla, Zid, noon, Amazon, Shopify, WooCommerce, Etsy and eBay are potential sources of records. Direct integration is confirmed only after checking the official interface and account permissions; structured imports may be used instead. Shipping, customs and VAT services are not automatically included.

Frequently asked questions

Is official LUCID registration free?

EPRORA service fees and German packaging-system charges are separate from official registration.

Do I need DPP to subscribe?

Zero DPP units is a valid Selfcheck choice; do not add an unwanted subscription.

Does a SABER certificate cover Germany?

SABER supports product registration, conformity certificates and shipment certificates for the Saudi market. A SABER certificate is neither German LUCID registration nor an EU Digital Product Passport.

Will my shop automatically connect without review?

Salla, Zid, noon, Amazon, Shopify, WooCommerce, Etsy and eBay are potential sources of records. Direct integration is confirmed only after checking the official interface and account permissions; structured imports may be used instead. Shipping, customs and VAT services are not automatically included.

When do delegated services start?

Delegated tasks start after a valid appointment, executed contract and necessary register steps, not merely after clicking a button.

Packaging representation for your EU sales markets

Use the self-check to record the EU countries you sell to. Then explicitly choose each supported country for which you wish to appoint EPRORA. Selecting a sales destination does not itself grant a mandate.

A separate mandate and annual subscription for each country

Each newly appointed country has its own applicable annual subscription and one-time mandate setup fee. Regular annual renewal does not repeat the setup fee. The self-check shows the country-by-country charges, first-year total and subsequent annual fees. Applicable VAT and third-party costs are itemised separately.

A country rules and monitoring package does not replace representation or the annual subscription for another country. Additional services are shown separately from the mandate.

Country-specific mandate documents

Each appointed country has its own mandate documents. Review the details, complete any blank fields and sign the relevant documents. Generating a document or making a payment alone does not activate the mandate.

A German LUCID registration or a German mandate does not replace a separate appointment for other sales markets. Existing registrations and packaging scheme agreements are taken into account when processing your appointment.

Battery, textile and furniture product passports

EPRORA connects packaging compliance, product passports and production data. Small online shops, manufacturers and enterprise groups can organise their data in one platform.
