EU battery passport from 18 February 2027 for Israeli companies
The EU duty concerns specified finished battery categories, not every battery, cell or electronic component.
Which batteries are in scope?
EV batteries, light-means-of-transport batteries and industrial batteries above 2 kWh placed on the EU market or put into service.
Who is responsible for the passport?
Identify the economic operator placing the finished battery on the market. A component manufacturer or cell supplier is not automatically the passport issuer.
What to prepare now
Serial and model identities, materials, origin, performance-related evidence and supply-chain documents. Separate public data from information with restricted access rights.
