MOHU EPR ≠ LUCID

Hungarian MOHU EPR does not replace German LUCID and packaging EPR

Hungarian producer obligations are organised around MOHU, producer registration, records, data reporting, KF codes and EPR fees. When a Hungarian company places packaged products on the German market, German producer status and EPR obligations are assessed separately.

Keep the Hungarian legal entity, MOHU/EPR processes and ERP/PIM stack
Treat Hungarian EPR and German EPR as separate legal compliance layers
Reuse an existing LUCID record for the same legal entity
Connect Product Master, Packaging Master, DPP, serial numbers, QR and production data

Reuse data, not legal status

Material, weight, SKU and Packaging Master data can be reused across markets while registration, systems and evidence remain jurisdiction-specific.

MOHU terminology is the key Hungarian context

The Hungary rollout directly connects familiar Hungarian EPR concepts with German LUCID and VerpackDG requirements.

MOHU EPR ≠ LUCID

Hungarian MOHU EPR does not replace German LUCID.

Hungarian producer registration, KF codes, records, reporting and EPR fees address Hungarian obligations. German sales separately require producer-role, LUCID, system participation, reporting and EPR authorised-representative analysis.

BEYOND PACKAGING EPR

DPP, serial numbers, QR and production in the same data model

EPRORA can extend the same product and packaging data to Digital Product Passports, serial numbers, QR product identity and Production Connector.

Frequently asked questions

Does Hungarian MOHU EPR compliance cover German packaging EPR?

No. Hungary’s MOHU/EPR producer registration, KF codes, reporting and EPR fees address Hungarian obligations. German sales require separate analysis of producer role, LUCID, system participation, reporting and authorised representation.

Is official LUCID registration free?

Yes. Official producer registration and ZSVR data reporting in LUCID are free of charge. Private services and system participation are separate costs.

Can an existing LUCID number remain in use?

Yes. For the same Hungarian legal entity, retain and update the existing producer record rather than creating a duplicate.

Does a Hungarian business need a German EPR authorised representative?

Since 12 August 2026, a foreign producer without a German establishment that directly supplies packaging or packaged products to German end users must appoint a German-based EPR authorised representative. LUCID registration remains the producer’s personal duty.

Can EPRORA connect commerce and ERP systems?

Yes where a supported direct connector exists; otherwise API, middleware or structured import can be used. Unsupported integrations are not presented as direct connectors.

Packaging representation for your EU sales markets

Use the self-check to record the EU countries you sell to. Then explicitly choose each supported country for which you wish to appoint EPRORA. Selecting a sales destination does not itself grant a mandate.

A separate mandate and annual subscription for each country

Each newly appointed country has its own applicable annual subscription and one-time mandate setup fee. Regular annual renewal does not repeat the setup fee. The self-check shows the country-by-country charges, first-year total and subsequent annual fees. Applicable VAT and third-party costs are itemised separately.

A country rules and monitoring package does not replace representation or the annual subscription for another country. Additional services are shown separately from the mandate.

Country-specific mandate documents

Each appointed country has its own mandate documents. Review the details, complete any blank fields and sign the relevant documents. Generating a document or making a payment alone does not activate the mandate.

A German LUCID registration or a German mandate does not replace a separate appointment for other sales markets. Existing registrations and packaging scheme agreements are taken into account when processing your appointment.
