German Packaging EPR by seller country

Country-specific entry points for international businesses selling packaged products directly to customers in Germany.

Global

International sellers

For sellers from countries without a dedicated local page, the same German decision tree applies: establishment, supply chain and direct supply to German end users determine the representative requirement.

CH

Switzerland

Switzerland is outside the EU. A Swiss seller without a German establishment that sells packaged products directly to German end users falls into the German foreign-producer workflow when the statutory conditions are met.

GB

the United Kingdom

UK sellers are third-country sellers for EU purposes. Direct-to-consumer shipments into Germany should therefore be checked before launch for German packaging registration, representative and system-participation duties.

US

United States

US brands often enter Germany through their own web shops, Amazon or fulfillment partners. The compliance analysis should separate the seller, importer and fulfillment roles instead of assuming that the marketplace carries the packaging obligation.

CN

China

Chinese manufacturers and marketplace sellers frequently sell directly to German end users. The platform therefore keeps company identification, marketplace imports and packaging quantities in one guided workflow while the manufacturer completes its own initial LUCID registration.

FR

France

French businesses selling directly into Germany must assess the German EPR rules separately from their French packaging obligations.

Knowledge centre →
IT

Italy

Italian sellers need a separate German compliance assessment for direct Germany sales; Italian packaging registrations do not replace German LUCID and EPR duties.

NL

Netherlands

Dutch cross-border sellers should treat Germany as a separate EPR market and determine who first makes the packaged products available to German end users.

Knowledge centre →
PL

Poland

Polish e-commerce sellers shipping directly to German customers need a Germany-specific assessment even when they already meet Polish packaging obligations.

Knowledge centre →
ES

Spain

Spanish sellers should assess German producer status and representative requirements independently from Spanish packaging compliance.

Knowledge centre →
CZ

Czechia

Czech sellers supplying German end users directly need a separate German EPR assessment; proximity to Germany does not merge the two national compliance systems.

Knowledge centre →
AT

Austria

Austrian sellers need to assess German packaging EPR separately when selling directly to German end users; Austrian compliance does not replace the German LUCID/EPR workflow.

Small sellers and independent shops

Start with the products and packaging actually shipped. An Etsy shop, eBay business or small independent store can prepare the same core records without an enterprise IT project. Use the self-check to identify the relevant next step, not to assume that every service is required.

Manufacturers and exporters

Manufacturers can connect product specifications, supplier evidence, batches, serial numbers and QR identifiers to a Digital Product Passport workflow. DPP scope and mandatory dates depend on the product category; voluntary preparation is not a claim that every product already needs a passport.

Packaging representation for your EU sales markets

Use the self-check to record the EU countries you sell to. Then explicitly choose each supported country for which you wish to appoint EPRORA. Selecting a sales destination does not itself grant a mandate.

A separate mandate and annual subscription for each country

Each newly appointed country has its own applicable annual subscription and one-time mandate setup fee. Regular annual renewal does not repeat the setup fee. The self-check shows the country-by-country charges, first-year total and subsequent annual fees. Applicable VAT and third-party costs are itemised separately.

A country rules and monitoring package does not replace representation or the annual subscription for another country. Additional services are shown separately from the mandate.

Country-specific mandate documents

Each appointed country has its own mandate documents. Review the details, complete any blank fields and sign the relevant documents. Generating a document or making a payment alone does not activate the mandate.

A German LUCID registration or a German mandate does not replace a separate appointment for other sales markets. Existing registrations and packaging scheme agreements are taken into account when processing your appointment.

Battery, textile and furniture product passports

EPRORA connects packaging compliance, product passports and production data. Small online shops, manufacturers and enterprise groups can organise their data in one platform.
