Finnish Rinki producer responsibility is not the German LUCID register

The EU PPWR creates common packaging rules, yet national EPR execution remains market-specific. Finland has Rinki, Finnish Packaging Producers Ltd and other producer organisations. Germany has the ZSVR/LUCID register, system participation and authorised representation where required.

Finland · Rinki and producer organisations

Producer responsibility for packaging placed on the Finnish market. Finnish registration does not automatically cover Germany.

Germany · LUCID and VerpackDG

German producer determination, own producer registration, system participation and required reports.

EPRORA · one operating workspace

Contracts, mandate, packaging quantities, sales channels, reporting milestones and evidence while keeping each country’s legal duties distinct.

Who should review their German packaging duties?

Etsy, eBay, Vinted and small sellers

Even small direct sellers of packaged goods into Germany should understand the German EPR position.

Shopify, WooCommerce and own shops

Keep existing storefronts and product catalogues. Use supported connectors or structured data imports.

Amazon.de and marketplaces

Keep marketplace evidence consistent with the real legal entity, LUCID producer and representative.

Manufacturers, exporters and enterprises

Connect product and packaging masters, serial numbers, supply chains and mandated legal documents.

A clear route into EPRORA

1. Free 60-second check

Choose your sales and packaging model and any product-passport needs. Zero product passports is a valid selection.

2. See service and setup pricing

Prices are shown before purchase. Official LUCID registration is free, and third-party system fees are separate.

3. Connect existing data

Reuse LUCID, brands, packaging types and channels. Registration steps reserved to the producer remain with the producer.

4. Sign a valid mandate

Following contract signature and confirmation, EPRORA can handle legally transferable obligations; mandate status is visible in Office.

5. Keep evidence up to date

Available channel and product data is organised and checked for reporting and later audit access.

Transparent EPRORA pricing before subscription

Plan names and annual prices are read from the active EPRORA pricing model. The contract and invoice currency is CHF; static EUR conversions would otherwise be misleading.

LUCID

Official LUCID producer registration is free (CHF 0).

Shops, marketplaces and enterprise data

EPRORA can connect sales, product and packaging data from multiple sources. Direct connectors and permissions vary by platform; API, middleware or structured imports are used where appropriate.

Shops and marketplaces

Amazon, Shopify, WooCommerce, eBay, Etsy and more; verify support and authorisation for each actual account.

ERP, PIM and production

SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, Odoo and custom systems can provide data via available interfaces.

Product and Packaging Master

Link products, SKU, materials, brand and packaging-weight evidence in an auditable model.
DIGITAL PRODUCT PASSPORT · ESPR · EU BATTERIES REGULATION

Digital Product Passports are a second independent reason to choose EPRORA

A Digital Product Passport (DPP) is more than a QR image. Organise product, material, supplier, serial-number and production evidence for forthcoming EU product-specific rules.

Battery passport · 18 February 2027

Applies to EV batteries, LMT batteries and industrial batteries above 2 kWh. Required information is defined in the EU Batteries Regulation.

Textiles · delegated act planned in 2027

The textile ESPR delegated act is scheduled for late 2027. There is no blanket textile DPP duty from February 2027.

Serials, batches and QR identity

Product Master and Production Connector link each item to evidence; actual production integrations depend on systems and permissions.

One workspace for a small seller or global enterprise

Simple to start, with an operating model that can cover multiple legal entities, brands, markets and product groups. EPRORA is designed for both small sellers and large manufacturers.

COMPLIANCE RISK · VERPACKDG § 66

Breaches can lead to fines of up to €200,000 – and a distribution ban may also apply.

The ZSVR gives the following examples: up to €200,000 for breaches of system-participation duties, up to €100,000 for breaches of registration duties and up to €10,000 for breaches of data-reporting duties.

The actual fine depends on the type, severity and degree of fault. Multiple breaches may be sanctioned separately; disgorgement of economic benefits may also be possible.

EPRORA is more than an EPR representative

One platform for compliance, product data and production

Beyond German packaging EPR, EPRORA can connect product and production data with ongoing compliance. That turns a single regulatory obligation into a reusable digital operating layer for products and markets.

01

Packaging EPR & representation

LUCID, German authorised representative, system status, packaging quantities, reports, evidence and shop/marketplace data in one ongoing workflow.

02

Digital Product Passports (DPP)

Product, material and compliance data can be consolidated into digital product passports and made available as structured product information.

03

Serial numbers, QR codes & product identity

Individual products or production units can be uniquely identified by serial numbers and QR codes and linked to product, production, Digital Product Passport and compliance records.

04

Production integration

Production and enterprise systems can connect through the EPRORA Production Connector to product, serial-number, packaging and compliance workflows.

EPRORA can therefore connect the path from a manufactured unit through serial number, QR-based product identity and Digital Product Passport to packaging and market compliance in one system.

Digital Product Passports: prepare for EU requirements and win export business

For manufacturers, brands and exporters: organise product, material, supplier and production data early. The EU is introducing Digital Product Passports by product category, not as a blanket rule for every product in 2027.

01

Battery passport from 18 February 2027

EU battery passports then apply to EV batteries, light-means-of-transport batteries and industrial batteries above 2 kWh. Capture model and item-level evidence at source.

02

Textiles: prepare your data now

Product-specific ESPR rules are planned for 2027; actual obligations and transitions depend on adopted measures. There is no universal textile DPP mandate from February 2027.

03

Further product categories

Iron and steel, aluminium, tyres, furniture and other groups are progressing on separate regulatory timetables. Only the applicable EU legal acts set binding requirements.

EPRORA connects product master data, material and supplier evidence, batches, serial numbers and QR identity, with optional production-system integration where interfaces permit. Make DPP preparation a reusable export-data workflow.

Frequently asked questions

Does a small Finnish Etsy or Shopify business need LUCID?

Potentially. Assess the German producer role and sales chain for packaged goods delivered to Germany. Business size alone does not decide the outcome.

Does Finnish Rinki membership cover German packaging EPR?

No. Finnish producer responsibility does not replace German LUCID, system participation and other applicable EPR requirements.

Is official LUCID registration free and can an old number be reused?

Yes. Official producer registration is free. Reuse and update an existing registration for the same legal entity rather than duplicating it.

Is a German authorised representative required?

For qualifying producers established abroad without a branch in Germany who directly sell packaged goods to German end users, the representative duty applies since 12 August 2026.

Can EPRORA complete every LUCID registration step for me?

No. Producer-personal registration steps remain with the producer. EPRORA can prepare data and perform legally transferable steps once validly appointed.

Are Amazon, eBay, WooCommerce and Shopify fully automatic?

Integration depends on actual platform APIs, access rights, consent and data availability. Structured imports are available where direct connectors are unsupported.

Can I subscribe without product passports?

Yes. Select zero Digital Product Passports in Selfcheck so the DPP add-on is not proposed automatically.

When do EU Digital Product Passports become mandatory?

Certain battery passports from 18 February 2027. Textile-specific rules are planned for 2027, with binding application dates defined by the adopted acts. There is no universal DPP mandate.

Where can I see prices and the representative contract?

Annual plans and mandate setup are shown here. Selfcheck gives a tailored recommendation and the appropriate contract route.

Packaging representation for your EU sales markets

Use the self-check to record the EU countries you sell to. Then explicitly choose each supported country for which you wish to appoint EPRORA. Selecting a sales destination does not itself grant a mandate.

A separate mandate and annual subscription for each country

Each newly appointed country has its own applicable annual subscription and one-time mandate setup fee. Regular annual renewal does not repeat the setup fee. The self-check shows the country-by-country charges, first-year total and subsequent annual fees. Applicable VAT and third-party costs are itemised separately.

A country rules and monitoring package does not replace representation or the annual subscription for another country. Additional services are shown separately from the mandate.

Country-specific mandate documents

Each appointed country has its own mandate documents. Review the details, complete any blank fields and sign the relevant documents. Generating a document or making a payment alone does not activate the mandate.

A German LUCID registration or a German mandate does not replace a separate appointment for other sales markets. Existing registrations and packaging scheme agreements are taken into account when processing your appointment.
