Packaging EPR & representation
LUCID, German authorised representative, system status, packaging quantities, reports, evidence and shop/marketplace data in one ongoing workflow.
Indian manufacturers, exporters and online sellers can have German packaging EPR obligations when they supply packaged goods to German end users. If the business has no establishment in Germany, the current German framework can require an EPR authorised representative depending on the route to market.
Indian manufacturers, exporters, D2C brands and marketplace sellers shipping packaged products to Germany.
The ZSVR gives the following examples: up to €200,000 for breaches of system-participation duties, up to €100,000 for breaches of registration duties and up to €10,000 for breaches of data-reporting duties.
The actual fine depends on the type, severity and degree of fault. Multiple breaches may be sanctioned separately; disgorgement of economic benefits may also be possible.
Beyond German packaging EPR, EPRORA can connect product and production data with ongoing compliance. That turns a single regulatory obligation into a reusable digital operating layer for products and markets.

Product, material and compliance data can be consolidated into digital product passports and made available as structured product information.
Individual products or production units can be uniquely identified by serial numbers and QR codes and linked to product, production, Digital Product Passport and compliance records.
Production and enterprise systems can connect through the EPRORA Production Connector to product, serial-number, packaging and compliance workflows.
EPRORA can therefore connect the path from a manufactured unit through serial number, QR-based product identity and Digital Product Passport to packaging and market compliance in one system.
For manufacturers, brands and exporters: organise product, material, supplier and production data early. The EU is introducing Digital Product Passports by product category, not as a blanket rule for every product in 2027.
EU battery passports then apply to EV batteries, light-means-of-transport batteries and industrial batteries above 2 kWh. Capture model and item-level evidence at source.
Product-specific ESPR rules are planned for 2027; actual obligations and transitions depend on adopted measures. There is no universal textile DPP mandate from February 2027.
Iron and steel, aluminium, tyres, furniture and other groups are progressing on separate regulatory timetables. Only the applicable EU legal acts set binding requirements.
EPRORA connects product master data, material and supplier evidence, batches, serial numbers and QR identity, with optional production-system integration where interfaces permit. Make DPP preparation a reusable export-data workflow.
Specific integrations depend on interfaces and data quality. DPP readiness must not be confused with verified legal compliance.
One-time setup for a new German mandate: CHF 29.
Plus applicable VAT; system participation and selected add-ons are separate.
Separate free official LUCID registration, any required system participation and EPRORA service fees. Review the current price, included services, any setup fee, renewal and cancellation terms before subscribing. No purchase should be based on an assumed all-inclusive licence.

You do not need to master all German packaging rules before you start. The key is to classify your actual sales structure correctly.
Packaging compliance does not end with a registration number. Ongoing sales, products, packaging quantities, reports and evidence all matter.
Automation depends on each platform’s APIs, account permissions and available data fields. Unsupported fields can be maintained through structured manual input.
The answer depends on the sales structure. Foreign businesses without a German establishment that sell directly to German end users should specifically assess the authorised-representative requirement.
A logistics provider is not automatically the statutory EPR authorised representative. The role must meet the applicable legal requirements and be formally appointed.
EPRORA supports marketplace compliance workflows and supported connectors, subject to platform APIs and permissions.

Use the self-check to record the EU countries you sell to. Then explicitly choose each supported country for which you wish to appoint EPRORA. Selecting a sales destination does not itself grant a mandate.
Each newly appointed country has its own applicable annual subscription and one-time mandate setup fee. Regular annual renewal does not repeat the setup fee. The self-check shows the country-by-country charges, first-year total and subsequent annual fees. Applicable VAT and third-party costs are itemised separately.
A country rules and monitoring package does not replace representation or the annual subscription for another country. Additional services are shown separately from the mandate.
Each appointed country has its own mandate documents. Review the details, complete any blank fields and sign the relevant documents. Generating a document or making a payment alone does not activate the mandate.
A German LUCID registration or a German mandate does not replace a separate appointment for other sales markets. Existing registrations and packaging scheme agreements are taken into account when processing your appointment.
EPRORA connects packaging compliance, product passports and production data. Small online shops, manufacturers and enterprise groups can organise their data in one platform.
