Germany EPR registration
German packaging EPR registration starts with LUCID but does not end there. The producer completes the legally personal LUCID registration itself. Depending on the packaging, dual-system participation and data reporting follow, while affected foreign producers must also appoint a Germany-based EPR authorised representative.
Built for international manufacturers, brands and multi-market organisations
EPRORA combines Germany packaging EPR and authorised representation with multi-country compliance data, Product Master, Packaging Master, Digital Product Passports, serialisation, QR product identity, supported commerce integrations and production-system workflows. The goal is a governed enterprise process rather than isolated registrations, spreadsheets and email evidence.
Who this is for
Companies placing packaged goods on the German market for the first time or turning an existing LUCID record into a complete ongoing compliance workflow.
Practical route
- Run the EPRORA Germany scope check
- Producer completes official LUCID registration
- Configure scheme participation and representation
- Maintain packaging and commerce data for reporting
LUCID is the official registration layer
The ZSVR operates the LUCID Packaging Register and does not charge for producer registration. EPRORA does not impersonate the producer for that personal legal act; it guides the handoff and records the resulting status.
Scheme participation is a separate obligation
For packaging subject to system participation, LUCID registration alone is not enough. The producer or authorised representative, as applicable, must also maintain the required agreement with an approved dual system and matching data reports.
Foreign producers should check representation
Since 12 August 2026, affected producers without a German establishment that supply directly to German end users must appoint a German EPR authorised representative under the current framework.
Frequently asked questions
Can EPRORA complete the entire LUCID registration for me?
The registration actions that German law reserves to the producer must be performed by the producer. EPRORA guides the process and handles the transferable duties afterwards.
Can I keep an existing LUCID registration?
Yes. Existing producer registration data can be used in the EPRORA workflow; appointing or changing a representative does not require rebuilding the producer registration from scratch.
When must Germany EPR registration be completed?
Where registration is required, it must be completed before the relevant packaging or packaged goods are first made available in Germany.
