German EPR authorised representative for Taiwan companies
Since 12 August 2026, a foreign company without a German establishment that sells empty packaging or packaged products directly to German end users without an intermediary retailer must appoint a German authorised representative. Producer registration in LUCID remains the producer’s own personal duty.
What EPRORA handles
EPRORA organises the German mandate, transferable EPR duties, status and evidence trail. The producer-only LUCID registration stays with the Taiwan company.
Keep an existing LUCID registration
Already registered Taiwan producers normally update the existing producer record and add the representative where required.
Digital Product Passports, serial numbers, QR codes and production integration
EPRORA can extend the same product and packaging data into Digital Product Passports, serial-number and QR-code product identity, supported marketplace/shop workflows and Production Connector integration for production or enterprise systems.
Frequently asked questions
Is official LUCID registration free?
Yes. Producer registration and ZSVR data reporting are free of charge. Dual-system, representative and private service costs are separate.
Can a Taiwan company reuse an existing LUCID number?
Yes. The existing producer registration should normally be retained and updated rather than duplicated.
Do VAT, customs, EORI or logistics replace German packaging EPR?
No. Tax, customs, logistics and packaging producer responsibility are separate compliance layers.
Can existing Amazon, Shopify, Etsy or eBay accounts remain in place?
Yes. EPRORA adds the German compliance and data layer around supported existing commerce channels.
