LUCID registration for Malaysian businesses

Official LUCID producer registration is free. Reuse and update the existing registration for the same legal entity rather than create a duplicate.

Separate the German and Malaysian legal frameworks

Germany applies PPWR/VerpackDG from 12 August 2026. Malaysia is developing domestic EPR frameworks and voluntary programmes, with mandatory stages planned for later. Malaysian national policies do not replace German LUCID and scheme participation.

Free LUCID registration and authorised representation

Official LUCID producer registration is free and reserved to the producer. Do not duplicate existing records for the same legal entity. A German representative is required for qualifying direct sales by foreign producers without a German branch.

EPRORA Office, DPP and manufacturing

EPRORA organises mandates, packaging quantities, commerce data, Product Master, Packaging Master, serialisation, QR and Digital Product Passports. Production integration depends on real APIs, permissions and usable source data.

COMPLIANCE RISK · VERPACKDG § 66

Breaches can lead to fines of up to €200,000 – and a distribution ban may also apply.

The ZSVR gives the following examples: up to €200,000 for breaches of system-participation duties, up to €100,000 for breaches of registration duties and up to €10,000 for breaches of data-reporting duties.

The actual fine depends on the type, severity and degree of fault. Multiple breaches may be sanctioned separately; disgorgement of economic benefits may also be possible.

One platform for compliance, product data and production

Beyond German packaging EPR, EPRORA can connect product and production data with ongoing compliance. That turns a single regulatory obligation into a reusable digital operating layer for products and markets.

01

Packaging EPR & representation

LUCID, German authorised representative, system status, packaging quantities, reports, evidence and shop/marketplace data in one ongoing workflow.

02

Digital Product Passports (DPP)

Product, material and compliance data can be consolidated into digital product passports and made available as structured product information.

03

Serial numbers, QR codes & product identity

Individual products or production units can be uniquely identified by serial numbers and QR codes and linked to product, production, Digital Product Passport and compliance records.

04

Production integration

Production and enterprise systems can connect through the EPRORA Production Connector to product, serial-number, packaging and compliance workflows.

EPRORA can therefore connect the path from a manufactured unit through serial number, QR-based product identity and Digital Product Passport to packaging and market compliance in one system.

Reuse existing records; avoid duplicate registration

Official LUCID registration is free and the producer role depends on the actual sales chain. Malaysia’s national EPR policy development does not replace German obligations, while DPP services are optional and governed by category-specific EU requirements.

Frequently asked questions

Does Malaysian EPR replace German LUCID?

No. National Malaysian EPR policies are separate from Germany’s packaging producer obligations, official LUCID registration, system participation and representation where applicable.

Is official LUCID registration free?

Yes. The producer completes personal registration steps without an official registration fee. Reuse an existing record for the same legal entity.

Are DPPs mandatory for all electronics in 2027?

No. EU Digital Product Passport rules are product-category specific. Certain battery categories require a passport from 18 February 2027.

Can I select zero product passports?

Yes. DPP is optional and the EPRORA Selfcheck should allow quantity zero.

Packaging representation for your EU sales markets

Use the self-check to record the EU countries you sell to. Then explicitly choose each supported country for which you wish to appoint EPRORA. Selecting a sales destination does not itself grant a mandate.

A separate mandate and annual subscription for each country

Each newly appointed country has its own applicable annual subscription and one-time mandate setup fee. Regular annual renewal does not repeat the setup fee. The self-check shows the country-by-country charges, first-year total and subsequent annual fees. Applicable VAT and third-party costs are itemised separately.

A country rules and monitoring package does not replace representation or the annual subscription for another country. Additional services are shown separately from the mandate.

Country-specific mandate documents

Each appointed country has its own mandate documents. Review the details, complete any blank fields and sign the relevant documents. Generating a document or making a payment alone does not activate the mandate.

A German LUCID registration or a German mandate does not replace a separate appointment for other sales markets. Existing registrations and packaging scheme agreements are taken into account when processing your appointment.

Battery, textile and furniture product passports

EPRORA connects packaging compliance, product passports and production data. Small online shops, manufacturers and enterprise groups can organise their data in one platform.
