Digital Product Passport for textiles: prepare Moroccan manufacturing for the EU DPP
Textiles and apparel are priority groups in the ESPR 2025–2030 working plan. The Commission plans the textile delegated act for Q4 2027; this is not yet a blanket 2027 mandate. EPRORA helps Moroccan manufacturers make product, material and production data DPP-ready now.
Textiles are an ESPR priority — not yet a blanket 2027 mandate
The Commission plans adoption of the textile ESPR delegated act in Q4 2027. That act will define the exact DPP data, model/batch/item level and implementation details, followed by a transition period of at least 18 months.
Capture now what is expensive to reconstruct later
Material composition, suppliers, production sites, product and batch identifiers, compliance evidence, environmental data, QR and serialisation are best structured at production time rather than reconstructed retrospectively.
EPRORA creates a DPP-ready product-data foundation
Product Master, Packaging Master, unique identifiers, QR and Production Connector create a usable data chain for future DPP obligations without inventing regulatory fields that have not yet been adopted.
Morocco’s developing EPR framework does not replace German LUCID.
Morocco embeds extended producer responsibility in its environmental framework and is developing a packaging EPR sector. German sales still require separate LUCID, VerpackDG, system and representative execution.
Prepare textile DPP now — without claiming a blanket 2027 mandate.
Textiles are an ESPR priority. The textile delegated act is currently planned for Q4 2027, followed by a transition of at least 18 months. Moroccan exporters should structure material, facility, product, batch, identifier, QR and evidence data now.
Frequently asked questions
Does Morocco already have a packaging EPR system equivalent to LUCID?
No. Extended producer responsibility is embedded as a principle in Morocco’s environmental framework and a packaging EPR framework is being developed, but it should not be presented as an operational equivalent of Germany’s LUCID register.
Is official LUCID registration free?
Yes. Official producer registration and ZSVR data reporting in LUCID are free of charge. Private services and system participation are separate costs.
Is a Digital Product Passport already mandatory for all textiles in 2027?
No. The European Commission currently plans adoption of the textile ESPR delegated act in Q4 2027. After adoption, a transition period of at least 18 months is foreseen. Preparing structured product data now is still strategically important.
Why does textile DPP matter for Morocco?
Morocco is a significant textile supplier to the EU. Future DPP requirements apply to covered products placed on the EU market irrespective of origin.
Can EPRORA connect commerce, ERP and production?
Yes where a supported direct connector exists; otherwise API, middleware or structured import can be used. Unsupported integrations are not presented as direct connectors.
