German packaging law for Irish businesses

For Irish businesses, Germany is a separate destination-market compliance layer. PPWR provides the EU framework, while German producer registration, system participation, reporting and representation are executed through Germany-specific rules and infrastructure.

Keep the Irish legal entity, marketplaces and ERP/PIM stack
Treat Irish packaging compliance and German destination-market EPR as separate compliance layers
Reuse an existing LUCID record for the same legal entity
Connect Product Master, Packaging Master, DPP, serial numbers, QR and production data

EU membership does not create one packaging-EPR registration

Irish packaging compliance does not automatically satisfy German producer obligations. The actual selling and fulfilment chain must be assessed.

Evidence should be management-ready

EPRORA keeps status, documents and underlying packaging data available for internal control and marketplace checks.

Repak and Irish producer-responsibility compliance do not replace LUCID.

Reuse Irish product and packaging data, but keep legal registrations, schemes, reporting and evidence market-specific.

DPP, serial numbers, QR and production in the same data model

EPRORA can extend Product Master and Packaging Master data to Digital Product Passports, serial numbers, QR product identity and Production Connector workflows.

Frequently asked questions

Does Irish packaging compliance or Repak cover Germany?

No. Irish packaging producer-responsibility compliance is a separate national layer. Selling packaged goods into Germany requires a separate assessment of producer role, LUCID, system participation, reporting and authorised representation.

Is official LUCID registration free?

Yes. Official producer registration and ZSVR data reporting are free of charge. Private services and German dual-system participation are separate costs.

Can an Irish company keep an existing LUCID number?

Yes. For the same legal entity, the existing producer record should normally be retained and updated rather than duplicated.

Do Irish businesses need a German authorised representative?

A foreign producer without an establishment in Germany that directly supplies relevant packaging or packaged products to German end users must assess the current German authorised-representative requirement.

Can EPRORA connect commerce, product and production data?

Yes. Supported connectors, APIs, middleware and structured imports can connect commerce data with Product Master, Packaging Master, Digital Product Passports, serial numbers, QR identity and Production Connector workflows.

Packaging representation for your EU sales markets

Use the self-check to record the EU countries you sell to. Then explicitly choose each supported country for which you wish to appoint EPRORA. Selecting a sales destination does not itself grant a mandate.

A separate mandate and annual subscription for each country

Each newly appointed country has its own applicable annual subscription and one-time mandate setup fee. Regular annual renewal does not repeat the setup fee. The self-check shows the country-by-country charges, first-year total and subsequent annual fees. Applicable VAT and third-party costs are itemised separately.

A country rules and monitoring package does not replace representation or the annual subscription for another country. Additional services are shown separately from the mandate.

Country-specific mandate documents

Each appointed country has its own mandate documents. Review the details, complete any blank fields and sign the relevant documents. Generating a document or making a payment alone does not activate the mandate.

A German LUCID registration or a German mandate does not replace a separate appointment for other sales markets. Existing registrations and packaging scheme agreements are taken into account when processing your appointment.

Battery, textile and furniture product passports

EPRORA connects packaging compliance, product passports and production data. Small online shops, manufacturers and enterprise groups can organise their data in one platform.
