German packaging law for Singapore businesses

For Singapore businesses, Germany is a destination-market compliance layer. The current German operational framework uses PPWR, VerpackDG and ZSVR/LUCID. Singapore company registration, customs documents or marketplace status do not replace German producer obligations.

Keep your Singapore legal entity, marketplaces and ERP/PIM stack
Reuse an existing LUCID record for the same legal entity
Separate official LUCID registration (free) from system and service costs
Connect Product Master, Packaging Master, DPP, serial numbers, QR and production data

LUCID is only one part of the file

Depending on packaging and sales chain, system participation, quantity reporting, representative status and distribution restrictions can all be relevant.

Evidence should be audit-ready

EPRORA keeps status, documents and underlying packaging data available for management, compliance and marketplace checks.

SINGAPORE OPERATING MODEL ≠ GERMAN PACKAGING COMPLIANCE

Singapore regional-HQ efficiency can stay. Germany adds its own EPR execution layer.

Company registration, export readiness, customs, regional distribution and marketplace status in Singapore do not automatically replace LUCID, German system participation, reporting or the authorised representative where required.

BEYOND PACKAGING EPR

DPP, serial numbers, QR and production in the same data model

EPRORA can extend the same product and packaging data to Digital Product Passports, serial numbers, QR product identity, supported commerce data and Production Connector.

Frequently asked questions

Does a Singapore company need German packaging EPR when selling to Germany?

Potentially yes. The actual producer role, any German establishment or intermediary, the sales chain and packaging placed on the German market determine the obligations.

Is official LUCID registration free?

Yes. Official producer registration and ZSVR data reporting are free of charge. Private service and system-participation costs are separate.

Can we keep our existing LUCID number?

Yes. For the same legal entity, the existing producer record should normally be retained and updated rather than duplicated.

Do Singapore businesses need a German authorised representative?

A foreign producer without an establishment in Germany that directly supplies packaging or packaged products to German end users must assess the current authorised-representative requirement under the rules applied from 12 August 2026.

Can EPRORA connect our commerce and ERP systems?

Supported connectors are used where available. Other systems can be handled by API, middleware or structured import without falsely claiming a direct connector.

Packaging representation for your EU sales markets

Use the self-check to record the EU countries you sell to. Then explicitly choose each supported country for which you wish to appoint EPRORA. Selecting a sales destination does not itself grant a mandate.

A separate mandate and annual subscription for each country

Each newly appointed country has its own applicable annual subscription and one-time mandate setup fee. Regular annual renewal does not repeat the setup fee. The self-check shows the country-by-country charges, first-year total and subsequent annual fees. Applicable VAT and third-party costs are itemised separately.

A country rules and monitoring package does not replace representation or the annual subscription for another country. Additional services are shown separately from the mandate.

Country-specific mandate documents

Each appointed country has its own mandate documents. Review the details, complete any blank fields and sign the relevant documents. Generating a document or making a payment alone does not activate the mandate.

A German LUCID registration or a German mandate does not replace a separate appointment for other sales markets. Existing registrations and packaging scheme agreements are taken into account when processing your appointment.

Battery, textile and furniture product passports

EPRORA connects packaging compliance, product passports and production data. Small online shops, manufacturers and enterprise groups can organise their data in one platform.
