# EPRORA UK — Germany Packaging EPR

## Direct answer

A UK business established outside Germany, with no German branch, that sells empty packaging or packaged products directly to end users in Germany without an intermediary retailer must assess the German authorised-representative requirement. Under the German framework in force from 12 August 2026, qualifying foreign producers must appoint a German Authorised Representative. Producer registration in the LUCID Packaging Register remains the producer's own duty.

Existing LUCID registrations should normally be updated and reused rather than duplicated. Official LUCID producer registration is free.

## UK decision logic

1. Is the selling company established in the UK?
2. Does it have no branch in Germany?
3. Does it sell packaged products directly to German end users?
4. Is it the relevant producer under the German packaging rules?
5. Does it already have a LUCID number?
6. Does it need system participation, packaging reporting and a German Authorised Representative?

## Cost structure

EPRORA service fees are shown separately from the official free LUCID registration and from third-party German dual-system/recycling charges. EPRORA contracts and invoices are denominated in CHF.

## Existing commerce stack

EPRORA is designed to sit alongside existing Amazon, eBay, Etsy, Shopify, WooCommerce, TikTok Shop and other supported sales channels. Existing LUCID records can be reused.
