## Direct answer

An Indian company selling packaged products directly to German end users must assess German packaging EPR separately from GST, IEC, AD Code, customs clearance, EORI and export documentation. Since 12 August 2026, qualifying foreign producers without a German establishment that sell directly without an intermediary retailer must appoint a German authorised representative. LUCID producer registration remains the producer's own duty.

## Cost structure

Standard EPRORA pricing is visible before checkout. Contracts and invoices are denominated in CHF. Official LUCID producer registration is free. German dual-system charges are separate third-party costs based on packaging material, weight and operator tariff. INR conversion depends on the customer bank or payment provider.

## India export context

GST, IEC, AD Code, shipping bill, customs clearance and freight-forwarder handling do not replace German packaging EPR. A genuine German importer or intermediary retailer can change the producer-role analysis.

Amazon Global Selling provides Indian exporters a commercial route to Germany, but Amazon marketplace access does not replace the underlying German packaging duties.
